Quick Draw Event

This year’s Art & Wine Walk will include a PleinAir “Quick Draw” Competition on Saturday, the 13th of September, a show and sale, open to any artist who wants to participate. Competition painters, professionals, amateurs, and adventurous dabblers are invited to compete for prizes and have fun.

These artists have only six blocks and three hours to complete their works! During this time, they will set up their easels and paint “en plein air” around the historic Front Street business district. See the scenes and the artists’ interpretations of them. Smell the paint and get caught up in watching paintings come to life before your eyes!

The completed art can be seen in a show to be held in Maritime Park on Saturday afternoon. Paintings are exhibited on the easels on which they were created for a “wet paint” sale beginning at 12 Noon. Unsold paintings will be removed at 4:00PM.

Visitors note! Everything about the Quick Draw is quick…so don’t miss out!

All area Plein Air painters are invited to set up across the event area on Sunday and enjoy a peaceful, non-competitive day of painting in historic and scenic Georgetown. Stop in at the main host tent in front of Maritime Park to get your guide map (as early as 7AM).
